CollegeFootball247.com Is For Sale or For Lease

Are you interested in beginning a blog on College Football?  Now is the perfect time to start!

Consider the value of this name, CollegeFootball247.com (and it’s sister name CollegeFootball24-7.com which is available free with the purchase of this domain name):

  • Yes, Football<dot>com would be the ultimate name for a football enthusiast but it isn’t limited to college football AND The price would be out of this world!
  • CollegeFootball<dot>com would be great!    So would the price!

in my opinion, CollegeFootball247 (and CollegeFootball24-7.com) are standing close to the front of the line behind these two great names.

  • 24-7 of course refers to “business opening hours or the availability of a service.”*   It also refers to the dedication and the heart, mind and soul of the college football fan!
  • The name doesn’t narrow the focus too much as it would if you used words such as ’scores’, ‘teams’, etc.

Interested but don’t have a clue on how to get started with a blog.  I’ll be glad to help you get started.  Believe me, if you are a college football fan and know a little about the game it will a piece of cake finding material to write about!   When I started the blog to attract attention I ruled out negative stuff like coaching problems, off the field problems, injuries, etc. and there was still tons I could have written about.

AP Top 25: Week 10

The AP Top 25 was announced today and there were very few surprises due to the crazy games this weekend.  The biggest surprise to me was the Georgia - Florida game.  Florida played a great game and Georgia seemed to do everything they could to help them!  Texas Tech looked like they could beat anybody!

‘It’s put up or shut up time for Georgia’

Mr. College Football wrote an article, ‘It’s put up or shut up time for Georgia’ for the Atlanta Journal Constitution:

‘Voters don’t like to admit this, but there are brand names in college football and as long as a brand name keeps winning, you don’t drop them in the polls.’

Mr. College Football offers some interesting commentary on ‘Five things we learned over the weekend’.

2008 Harris Interactive College Football Poll News

The latest Harris Interactive College Football Poll News was released today (Oct. 19th).  About the poll:

‘Poll Methodology and Process

This year, the BCS has again commissioned Harris Interactive to construct a
panel of former players, coaches, administrators and current and former media
who are committed to ranking the college teams each week during the 2008 college
football season. Panelists have been randomly selected from among more than 300
nominations submitted by the conference offices and the independent
institutions. The panel has been designed to be a statistically valid
representation of all 11 Division I-A conferences and institutions participating
in the Bowl Championship Series.

Poll participants will submit their rankings for the Top 25 teams on a weekly
basis during the 2008 season, beginning September 28, through December 7. Harris
Interactive will release the results of the overall rankings each week.
Consistent with the desire of the BCS for transparency, panelists’ names and
their individual team rankings for the December 7 poll also will be released.

History behind the Harris Interactive College Football Poll

Harris Interactive launched its
first release of the Top 25 college football team rankings on September 25,
2005. The 11 Division I-A conferences and the independent institutions
comprising the BCS had commissioned Harris Interactive to conduct a new college
football Top 25 poll, results that have become one of the components of the
overall BCS standings formula which determines the participants in the BCS
National Championship Game and other BCS bowl games played each January.
